Yesterday, at the Rovinj City Council Meeting, we presented the Green Infrastructure Strategy for the City of Rovinj-Rovigno for the 2022-2030 period.
The Strategy aims at defining goals and guidelines to develop a green infrastructure for the City of Rovinj as a tool that can provide a wide range of social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Green infrastructures have the potential to mitigate climate change and reduce its negative impact on the environment. The development of green infrastructures has the potential to prevent and reduce the impacts of floods and landslides; protect biodiversity and the environment; enhance the health and well-being of urban residents; cool heat islands; create new job opportunities.
Green infrastructure can be considered as a tool to develop sustainable, resilient, safe and livable cities.
